Digital Loyalty Card
Gaining new clientele is one of the most difficult aspects of running a business, so it is important to retain and look after the ones you already have, and sell more to them, but at the same time still looking for new customers.
Therefore, in order for a business to grow and increase revenue you must do one or more of the following:
1. Retain existing customers;
2. Increase spending from existing customers;
3. Attract new customers.
Customer Loyalty Cards are a great way to try and encourage repeat custom from regular customers. These have been used by coffee shops and hair/beauty salons and in recent years even car washes and gardeners have been using them to help them gain repeat custom.
Some businesses might be wondering how they can reward a customer for a specific purchase if the ‘value’ of the items they sell differ significantly. For example, a Fish and Chip Shop might sell 2 x Sausages at £1.60 and a Fish Supper at £5.95. How do they decide when to issue a stamp? The thing is you don't have to issue a stamp for a particular item purchased, you could do it for a specific amount spent. In the example above, the Fish and Chip Shop could give a stamp for every £5.00 spent with a full card being redeemed against a Sausage or Pastie Supper.
Not all businesses will be in a position to offer something for free as a reward. A Bouncy Castle business for example, could have items ranging in price from £50 to £150 to hire. They could offer a stamp for every £40 spent and when the card is full the customer gets a discount of £40 off their next item hired.
